JULES X

Jules X is a Brussels-based DJ/producer, mixtape maker and radio DJ. With a "no rules - all styles" approach, Jules X is known for his super sonic DJ sets and mixtapes. Nationally and internationally acclaimed for his musical repertoire and mixing skills. His carefully curated vinyl-only DJ sets and mixtapes leave no musical genre untouched. He effortlessly mixes from blues to doo-wop, funk, rock 'n' roll, pop and soul - and all the way back. His degree in mixing and sound production gives him the technical skills to complement his artistic vision. His musical career, spanning over a decade, is a testament to his unique abilities. From 2008 to 2013, he was a resident of Studio Brussels' "Playground" programme. Since 2010, he has had his own show on Bruzz Radio. He has performed at some of the most prestigious festivals and clubs in Belgium, including Tomorrowland, Laundry Day, Culture Club, Fuse, Club Silo Muziekodroom, Rock Herk, Kiosk Radio and Vaux Hall, to name but a few. Some of his most notable projects include the mixtape 'Waiting for the Irishman', a tribute to Martin Scorsese in anticipation of his latest film: The Irishman. The mixtape was picked up and broadcast by New York's Brooklyn Radio. The "Reanimation Mix" highlighted in De Morgen took 11 months to perfect. This tribute mix was dedicated to all the musical legends we have lost in recent years: MCA, Phife Dawg, James Brown, Gill Scott Heron, David Mancuso, Leonard Cohen, Eazy E, Jam Master Jay, David Bowie, Prince, Frank Zappa and many more. In 49 minutes you will hear 160 records and 200 film and interview clips. He won the Brooklyn Radio (NYC) mixtape contest with his mixtape "Playground 4". Few people approach the art of mixing with the same dedication as Jules X.
